NORTHERN MOSAIC MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The Northern Mosaic Mentorship Program is a paid mentorship program that will match 2SLGBTQIPA+ youth with older youth, adults, or elders across the Northwest Territories. The Program is a youth-centred and youth-led initiative.

Mentors

Mentors with the Northern Mosaic Mentorship Program must be over the age of 18, belong to the 2SLGBTQIPA+ community, and be able to provide a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check along with two references.

We are seeking mentors who:

  • Are able to make an 8-10 hour monthly commitment.

  • Model a healthy lifestyle (exercising moderation, balance and healthy relationships).

  • Welcome challenges and differences.

  • Face adversity with respect.

  • Are supportive and kind.

  • Practice humility.

Mentors who complete mandatory Mentorship training will be matched with a Mentee based on mutual interests, identities, and cultural background. We provide ongoing support and training to ensure that our mentors have the skills and tools they need to make a meaningful impact on the lives of their mentees.

Our mentors are compensated with a $25/hour honorarium, and receive a stipend for expenses related to mentorship visits.
